IR Immigration App — Terms of Use
Effective date: November 3, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the IR Immigration mobile app and its companion website (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by [À COMPLÉTER : dénomination légale de l’entreprise et numéro d’entreprise du Québec (NEQ)], doing business as IR Immigration ("IR Immigration", "we", "us").
By downloading, browsing or creating an account in the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
IR Immigration helps individuals and families understand, structure and prepare their immigration projects to Canada and Québec. The app is a free information tool that brings together:
- news published by official government sources (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC], provincial and territorial governments);
- information on immigration programs, draws, scholarships, educational institutions, study programs and careers;
- the IR Immigration blog.
The app has no in-app purchases. It may show clearly identified, frequency-limited IR Immigration promotional messages; profile targeting and promotional emails require separate optional consent. An account is optional: public content remains available without signing up.
2. General information only — not legal advice
The content of the Service is provided for information purposes only. It is not legal advice, personalized immigration advice or an assessment of your eligibility for any program.
- Using the Service does not create a client-consultant, solicitor-client or any other professional relationship with IR Immigration.
- Immigration rules, programs, thresholds, fees and processing times change frequently, sometimes without notice. Content that was accurate when published may become outdated.
- Always verify the information with the official source before making a decision or submitting an application. Whenever possible, each item shows a link to its official source and the date it was last verified.
3. No government affiliation
IR Immigration is a private business. It is not affiliated with any government, department or public agency, including IRCC or Québec's Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI), and is not endorsed or sponsored by them. Government names and content are cited to inform you and to direct you to official sources. Immigration applications can only be made to the competent authorities.
4. Professional consultations
IR Immigration's consulting services are separate from the app. They are offered by appointment through the Book an appointment page and are governed by the service agreement entered into at the time of booking, including its pricing terms. Consultations are provided by a person authorized to practise under the applicable regulatory framework [À COMPLÉTER : nom de la consultante ou du consultant réglementé et numéro de permis du Collège des consultants en immigration et en citoyenneté (CICC)]. You can check a consultant's status in the CICC public register.
5. Your account
- To create an account, you must provide a valid email address and accurate information. If you are under 14, you must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use through the support form.
- You can delete your account at any time directly in the app (Profile › My account › Delete my account) or through the deletion request form. Deletion is permanent.
6. Comments and acceptable use
Signed-in users can post comments. Comments are public: other users can see them, along with the author's display name. When posting a comment, you agree not to:
- post content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene or violent;
- post your own or anyone else's sensitive personal information (social insurance number, passport number, IRCC file number, address, health information, etc.);
- impersonate another person, IR Immigration or a government representative;
- offer unauthorized immigration services, solicit payments, promise outcomes, or post advertising, spam or fraudulent links;
- infringe the rights of others, including copyright;
- disrupt the Service, circumvent its security measures or scrape its content by automated means.
You keep your rights in your comments. However, you grant IR Immigration a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, reproduce and display them in the Service for as long as they are published. We may moderate, hide or remove any comment that breaches these Terms, and we may suspend or close the account of a user who commits serious or repeated breaches. To report content, use the support form.
7. Intellectual property
The IR Immigration name and logo, the app's design, its original text and the blog articles are protected by intellectual property laws. They may not be reproduced without permission, except for your personal, non-commercial use.
Government content belongs to its respective owners. The Service displays titles, short summaries and links to the original publications, which we encourage you to consult directly.
8. External links and services
The Service contains links to third-party websites, including government and educational institution websites. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
9. Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the Service available and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or complete. We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service. Because the Service is free, no compensation is owed in that case.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or currency of the information;
- IR Immigration is not liable for decisions made or steps taken based solely on the content of the Service, nor for any refusal, delay, cost or missed opportunity that may result;
- IR Immigration is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Nothing in these Terms limits IR Immigration's liability for intentional or gross fault, or for bodily or moral injury, or excludes any right you have under Québec's Consumer Protection Act or any other law of public order.
11. Changes
We may amend these Terms. The effective date at the top of this document will then be updated. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept them; if you do not, you may delete your account at any time.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these Terms. Sections 2, 3, 7, 10 and 13 survive the closure of an account.
13. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Québec, subject to your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. App stores
If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store or Google Play, these Terms are concluded between you and IR Immigration only, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Those companies are not responsible for the Service or its content and have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. The usage rules of the store from which you obtained the app also apply. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
15. Language
These Terms are written in French. This English translation is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
